As a family business, Devesa has been involved in the meat and cattle-raising industry for over a century, both in Europe and Argentina. We offer the highest quality beef products, in the same natural condition and care in which the cattle were raised.

As a business that remains true to its farming heritage, and with a continuous focus on quality and customer service, we have grown to become the meat supplier of choice for the most demanding customers in premium markets. We select the finest breeds of cattle for our beef range, rear them on pristine pastures and apply strict nutritional programs, while closely controlling every aspect of the production process.

OUR BEEF

OUR FEEDLOTS AND RANCHES

In the heart of the Pampas, in the province of Buenos Aires and Cordoba, 12 ranches and 2 feedlots, provide ample resources to feed our cattle with both pasture and grain. We also manage 13 properties which are used to background our cattle and prepare them to enter the feedlot. Up to 60% of our cattle are raised on our own properties and the rest come from approved suppliers. We offer grass fed meat of high quality steers that are raised and fed in pastures as well as premium selected cattle that are grain fed.

In our state-of-the-art feedlots, cattle receive a locally grown and carefully prepared feed ration.

These completely natural rations are designed to produce a rich flavor and achieve the required marbling of demanding customers. Based on research from Temple Grandin, our cattle are treated gently and housed in comfort. Our careful handling includes using horses and people within the feedlot to move the cattle around. This calm and relaxing atmosphere improves the tenderness of the meat.

All cattle are carefully selected and monitored to ensure they meet the most demanding international standards. The Pampas region provides the best quality beef in the world.

OUR PROCESSING PLANT

Devesa produces meat cuts, offals, and by-products of bovine origin for international and local markets. Our plant, establishment N° 5039, is located in Azul, the center of the Buenos Aires province and in the heart of the cattle region of Argentina, surrounded by a clean rural environment.

Our processing plant uses the best equipment, methods and technology available. It has been designed for flexibility so we can meet unique customer specifications. The process has been designed to eliminate stress during animal handling.

The Devesa team takes full measures to ensure that the highest food safety is maintained. Our full-time vets conduct in-depth health examinations of each animal, as well as continuous inspections of our beef.

OUR PRODUCTS

We offer a wide portfolio of meat products from carcass and primal cuts to value-added raw. The creation of value begins in the fields with the raising of our own cattle and continues in the processing facility with the elaboration of our tailor-made products, guaranteeing an excellent quality and presentation, without hormones or antibiotics. We are responsive to the needs of all our customers, from wholesalers to restaurants and meal-makers, so that everyone can enjoy a product of the highest quality.

Our grain or grass fed beef cuts and offals are exported to markets across the globe, such as: Europe, Asia, Middle East, America and Africa.

Devesa’s certified Angus meat is highly demanded due to its natural marbling, tenderness, taste, and juiciness. This is the result of strict animal selection, natural rations and high quality standards.

ANIMAL WELFARE AND ENVIRONMENT

Animal welfare is important at Devesa. On each of our sites, we have fully-trained animal welfare officers and continuous training is conducted with all employees to ensure animals are handled correctly.

QUALITY

Devesa’s quality team fully applies SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards to guarantee the highest level of food safety in the industry. We comply or exceed the standards required by national and international agencies. All of the elements mentioned above ensure that we produce safe and consistent high quality products to exceed our customers’ expectations.

TRACEABILITY

In Devesa we use electronic tagging methods to continually monitor each animal throughout the supply process.

Our traceability system connects the entire productive process, from “Farm to Fork,” guaranteeing the highest quality beef available.
